Crashes on iOS 7

Truly a great app, but crashes constantly on iOS 7. Besides, there is no iPad version, a real shame. Urgently needs a fix.

perfect!

perfect app - much better than sunpath - and a lot cheaper ;) i love it and it is my favourite app and one of the reasons i definitely need an iphone

A must for photographers

The most useful app I have, this has helped me time executive portraits perfectly and work efficiently with people who have tight schedules. I really on this app as if my life depended on it, okay, a little exaggerated, at least my business life.

Spiegelverkehrte Kartr

I hardly use this app anymore as the compass/map doesnt seem to work at all. it is giving totally invalid information. When I scroll in a direction the maps shows what actually is on the other side. Eg. Street A is left next to me where I am standing. When I scroll left on the map it moves towards street B which in fact is right of me. There are so many apps (free apps) where maps and compass work great, why not here? It the most expensive app on my phone. What a shame.

crashes immediately

if i try to open the app it crashes immediately. IOS 8.2 it worked fine under IOS7. waiting for an update. considdering the price of rhis app..... hurry up. seit 8.2. läuft die app nicht mehr. crasht beim öffnen.

Comprehensive Sun tracking software...

A full featured and comprehensive sun tracking software all nicely packaged for the iPhone/iTouch. Looks like I wont be using sunPATH as much now that I have Helios. Skyview: Gives a good overall, intuitive look at the whole day. Heliometer: Packed full of information that is intuitive to access and use. I like the slide-rule style interface. Able to jump to any time and as well lists azimuth for the whole day in 15 min intervals. Compass View: With the 3GS, you can use compass views in both the SkyView and the Heliometer. I find this function very useful in quickly orienterring oneself on a location scout/recce. Overall, an excellent app. Hope the developers keep refining and working on making this great app better. Thanks.

I am a Director of Photography and love this app. I use it all the time on location. Its really handy to be able to pull out my phone and know where the sun is going to be that day or in the future. Also it works super fast.

Great App for Photographers

Great app and great customer service. When I found a small glitch in the program, the programmers fixed up within a day or two, and the update was available for download by App Store shortly after. I think this app is great for photographers, but I think the price keeps a lot of amateur photographers away.

FANTASTIC!!!!!

Having this app for over a year I can say with confidence it is one of my favourites. It was great in its original version, and with successive updates its INCREDIBLE. Helios is an awesome multi-function tool. Thank-you to the Dev team for such a well thought out and designed app!

Helios

This app is useless with the new iPhone update Previously it was awesome

Application crash at startup

However after deleting and reinstalling the application, it is working now. It is a remarkably well designed app. Very easy to use given all it provides. The choice of black fonts over a dark grey background on the time selection wheel is very difficult to see. Other than that it works well.

Quite disappointing

The app kind of works, but sun path is mostly incorrect unless you calibrate with the actual sun (try it on a clody day, not easy). No frequently updated, the interface is messy and the cost is too high and absolutely unmotivated. I really hope they still work on it because frankly I invested in this app, and its not working as its supposed to. And I also hope someone from the company reads this and gives me a feedback.

DP

Very cool. All the tools you need to predict the position of the sun anytime, anywhere. Looking forward to integration with the 3GS compass.

Love the new map function

Did a shoot last week where I used the Map View function for the first time on my iPad. A birds-eye view of the location and the direction of the sun during the day made it very easy to plan the position of bounces and diffusion. Loved this app when it came out. Love it even more now.

Fine application

Has an elegant interface, and is extremely useful. My only wish is that there were a preference for the program to start up with the current date and time and location. More often than not, I need to know what the sun is doing right now: it is a little frustrating to have to tap several time to make so simple a thing happen. Annoying, but does not cost the app a star.

Almost Ready, few more fixes

2.2 fixed the date and location issues, but my biggest gripe remains. Still have not resolved launching with current time! Please address this in the next update. Second is limitation on manual coordinate entries. If it is a valid coordinate on the surface of this planet, then should be able to view it, regardless if its too damn cold for an iPhone there!

Not a good substitute

A nice looking app but for dynamic calculations youll still need an inclinometer. And compass. In my opinion youre better off with the Suunto Tandem and Sunpath software. This app cant tell you when the sun will be behind an object or allow you to point to the sky and pinpoint the sun location. It only offers a static two dimensional chart of calculations. Not that useful.

Best application I have....

Seriously, I cant believe how anyone can give this application less than 5 stars. Helios is simply the best application available for predicting sun positions during a shoot. The interface is easy to use, the information accurate and well presented. The built in inclinometer works very well. I still use my Suunto Tandem for verification but generally Helios is all I need. Well done Chemical Wedding!!!

Helios is a stellar app!

I absolutely love this program. For those of you saying it doesnt have a compass and inclinometer... it does... this is an app mainly aimed at 3Gs users but anyone can value from its information. I filmed a beautiful sunrise this morning. Looked night before at weather on my iPhone... then used Helios to predict the sunrise. Arrived an hour early... using the compass, the heliometer, and skyview, was able to accurately predict when the sun was going to rise... and what path it would take over the 3 hour long shot. Simply amazing software... must have if youre a filmmaker or photographer!

Good app, needs some work

It needs a single button that will take you to the current date, time, and GPS location. The interface could be reworked some, it seems like the buttons were added after the fact. But this is a really great app. I use it all the time.
